Last Dance
Piano, play for me one more time.
Don’t let me down, don’t let my fans down, let me dream one more time.
Can’t believe it’s over. What a ride!
I wanted to burn; instead, I went off slowly.
I wanted to be the arsonist, now I’m a firefighter.
But on stage, I am free, I show my true face, music sets me free.
I look at my audience. They grew up with me, loved with my music, cried, had sex. I created their memories.
I feel like God on stage, a god who has come to the end of his days, but still revered and respected, even if no longer capable of working miracles.
Let’s give them one last show they won’t forget, piano.
We go on stage, the last dance, and then home!
